    Re: Goforth on the move

Naa Not really I don't know your situation, But from what i've heard lots of the girls are disappointed in you, and seems to me like it was a hasty decision to leave the school so quickly after telling everyone you'd be there till you retired. If that isn't true then I apologize cause thats what I find the most ****ty about the whole deal. I don't know how you get along with other faculty or whatever, maybe thats your reason for leaving? As a fan of whatever is John I. Burton just seems ****ty to jump ship like this when the future may not be so bright next year... thats all im saying

I thought Burton returned some pretty key players next year and will probably one of the best D1 teams again in the area.

    Re: Goforth on the move

I can't blame him for the move as he has a family to take care of and tha
t is most important. His wife is employed by Wise Co and who knows if she was to be retained and like you Skeletor he has a infant child to take care of. He might have made the promise , but opportunity comes along you have to make a choice, he almost won back to back State titles, he isgetting beter gym but it boils to the care of family. Coaches aren't prone to take a job and be part of the community like they were 30-40 years ago unless they have ties there, if he wqs at Kelly would he have left, only he can answer that.
Would you have said the same thing if Coach Adams left? A year ago he was mulling whether or not to take the job at AAA William Fleming in Roanoke, but choose to stay here, if he had left would you say they same thing about your old coach as you do of Goforth?

    Re: Goforth on the move

Like I said I don't know his situation at all. I don't know if he gets paid peanuts to Teach / Coach. Perhaps making a post not knowing his situation was hasty of me. I sent him a PM Id be more than happy to better understand his situation, Anyone who knows me on these forums knows how full of crap I am...I apologized to him, I don't know the guy. As much as I would LOVE to better understand his situation I don't really think its any of my business, as I don't know the guy really.

The Difference is Coach Adams hasn't told anyone (as far as I know) Im staying here till I retire, then short time later announce hes leaving.

    Re: Goforth on the move

Coach Goforth is a good dude and a friend of mine. I don't blame him at all on the move, he is doing what is best for his family. I wish him nothing but the best of luck.

JIB Girls will be just fine next year, hopefully whoever takes over can continue and build from the success that Mike has established here.
